I have been reading a lot lately about “going beyond your comfort zone” and pushing the limits of your experience. I did that twice in the last 2 weeks. Ordinarily, I don’t like movies that have any kind of violence, especially “war movies,” I have very little interest in the fancy camera and graphic tricks that kids love, and except for “Shrek,” I don’t like “cartoon” movies. I don’t even like the arrogant “king of the world” guy who directed “Titanic,” James Cameron.
But twice in the last 2 weeks, I went and experienced “Avatar” in 3-D and I absolutely loved it! Part of me was a little nervous when I went to an “Omnimax” theater. I was afraid that some giant monster was going to jump out at me in 3-D, “Surround Sound” and a 360 degree screen and I would jump out of my skin!
I was very pleasantly surprised. Because of truly amazing technology, the world of “Pandora,” a planet in some distant solar system was filled with life-like, magnificent creatures and plant life.
There was some violence, but nothing excessively gorey. I thought the story was wonderful, and amazingly creative and I was totally mesmerized for almost 3 hours! (I have the kind of learning disabilities that sometime make it difficult for me to stay focused for that long of a time). I saw it twice and loved it twice.
What does this have to do with tapping? Not much, really, except that I did a little tapping to get past my reluctance to see this film and I’m very glad I did. Is there something you’ve been putting off doing because you ‘can’t face it’ or you’re a little scared, or nervous? Try tapping. You might be very glad that you did!
