April is the Cruelest Month?

I never understood “The Waste Land” poem by T.S. Eliot, but that first line always haunted me.  Some tongue-in-cheek writers claim that it is the “cruelest” month because tax day comes in the middle of it.  Maybe it has something to do with the strange fluctuations in the weather…especially in the Midwest.

Whatever Eliot was thinking, I have found a new significance for the month of April.  I just discovered that it is “National Stress Awareness” month, and that April 16th is “National Stress Awareness” day.

Since a great deal of my tapping work is about relieving stress, April seems like the “coolest month.”  I found out this rather obscure piece of information on a relatively new search engine that I love:  it’s called Leapfish and I encourage you to check it out.  Go to www.leapfish.com.  What I love about this search engine is that it saves you a lot of time because when you search for a word, it shows you every other major search engine results plus Facebook, Twitter and You-Tube.

I am so convinced that people are going to love this easy and very efficient search engine, that I actually “bought” the word “stress” from them.  So, if you search for the word “stress” on LeapFish, my little ad shows up at the top of the page.  It says:  “Got stress?” and leads you to my website.

I think the best way to celebrate “National Stress Awareness” month is to tap.  The next time you feel stressed out (and who doesn’t these days?), stop and tap for a few moments.  Don’t worry about coming up with specific phrases, or figuring out how intense your stress might be, just tap.  If you are in a public place and people might look at you strangely if you start tapping under your arms and on the top of your head, just tap all your fingertips together.

In my next blog post, I’ll talk about some of the physical manifestations of stress, and how tapping can help.
